Construction mechanic (m/f/d)

What do you do as a construction mechanic?

When you look at construction cranes and container ships, have you always wondered how such structures are built? After your dual training in construction mechanics, you will know the answer! As a construction mechanic, you will work on such mammoth projects. You study technical drawings and think about how they can be put into practice. Using lasers and tools, you mill, bend and punch precision components for elevators, ships and bridges. As soon as all the parts are ready, you put on your protective clothing and head to the construction site for assembly. This can be either in Germany or abroad, as many companies serve the demand for systems and machines worldwide. There you will work with your team to assemble the individual parts. This is how plans and designs become reality before your eyes.

Where are you needed?

After your dual training as a construction mechanic, all doors will be open to you within the industry. After all, you can use your skills to ensure that construction projects are successful. And there are a lot of them. Hardly any modern building can do without an elevator system and construction cranes also have to be designed and constructed before they can get started. In machine and tool construction or steel construction, people like you are needed to keep track of large projects.

What should you bring to the table?

Have you been fascinated by construction ever since Lego Technik? Then you have what is most important for a dual apprenticeship in construction mechanics, namely an interest and passion for technical contexts. Your training company also wants you to have at least a secondary school leaving certificate. Perhaps you have already completed an internship in the field and therefore already know a bit about building and construction plans? Or perhaps you are a member of a sports club or do regular fitness training? Physical commitment is also required when working on site. You can also score points if you are a team player, because cooperation is very important in this profession and everyone has to be able to rely on each other.
