What do you do as an industrial clerk? 

As an industrial clerk, you are a multi-talent and are deployed in various areas of the company. Boredom doesn’t stand a chance. For example, if your company is due to be renovated, you will calculate the materials required and work out the costs involved. Then it’s straight on: an applicant introduces themselves and because you have organized the application process, you conduct the interview. And then you have a phone call with a new supplier. Your task: to conduct the negotiation. You are also the contact person for marketing strategies. So no two days are the same. Boredom? Not a chance.

Where are you needed?

Whether it’s a chemical company, car manufacturer or logistics company: As an industrial clerk, your skills are needed. Every modern company has to plan processes, create cost plans or coordinate marketing measures. Thanks to your dual training, you will be perfectly prepared for these tasks. That’s why you are indispensable as an industrial clerk these days.

What should you bring with you? 

Keeping an overview at all times is quite a challenge. But during your dual training, you will learn what you need to pay attention to. An enthusiasm for math will help you. After all, one of your main tasks will be to draw up cost plans. A good command of English is also an advantage when negotiating with international customers and suppliers. And a good dose of enjoyment in dealing with people and communication can’t hurt either.

  • Training content ranges from the design of work processes and financial planning to human resources management and marketing
  • Intermediate examination halfway through the training period
  • After your apprenticeship, you have several options for further training: As a state-certified industrial business administrator, you can take on management tasks. With two years of professional experience under your belt, you have the opportunity to become a certified industrial business administrator. Your training is also a very good basis for studying business administration or economics.
